The BCAA factor
These are the three amino acids commonly known as isoleucine, leucine and valine, They are metabolised within the muscle and are readily available to aid in muscle recovery and thus combat muscle breakdown. Leucine is one of the most significant anabolic properties and can also activate the so called 'mammalian target of rapamycin' (mTOR) that works in regulating muscle growth.
EAAs
These are L-taurine, L-citrulline and L-alanine. Citrulline is an amino acid that acts to support the formation of nitric oxide whilst taurine assists the uptake of nutrients into muscle and lastly, alanine is converted into pyruvate assisting glucose production in an intense workout.
L-leucine is an essential amino acid that can be obtained by eating meat, dairy products, eggs, and other beans; it helps in maintaining muscle mass; aids in weight loss; increased levels of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (good cholesterol).
L-valine is an essential amino acid for cognitive function; it can be found from leafy vegetables, poultry, milk and kidney beans; it also aids in maintaining muscle and regulation of immune system.
L-isoleucine is a BCAA that goes along with leucine and l-valine promotes tissue repair; promotes blood sugars and energy levels; it also prevents muscle breakdown during an intense training session; increases your energy and endurance levels
L-alanine is an essential amino acid that helps convert blood glucose to energy; for muscle health to reduce fatigue.
Taurine is an amino acid found largely in the brain and best food sources are meat and fish; it helps in improving anxiety, hyperactivity, and poor brain function.
L-citrulline is a naturally occurring amino acid found in foods like watermelons; it is also used in body building for increasing energy and athletic performance.
Citric acid will help you clear out free radicals from the body; great sources are grapefruits, lemon and oranges; it also controls acid balance in the body; keeps kidney stones at bay.
Malic acid is an acid derived from plant, most commonly from apples; salt forms of malic acid assist is Kreb’s cycle process of producing energy; aids in digestion, detoxification and aerobic metabolic functions.
Cholecalciferol vitamin D3 is a fat soluble vitamin that helps in absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
